Analysis of mobility on universities campuses in metropolises of emerging countries through the combination of inductive reasoning and monographic procedure methods

Resumen

This paper studies urban mobility on Recife Campus of Federal University of Pernambuco based on physical and bibliographic research. It addresses the urban layout since its original conception, analyzes its main components and operation faced with the increase of individual vehicles use and the implications on its internal mobility system. It presents also other types of Brazilian campuses? road systems. This process occurs due to governmental policies and may serve as research material in similar investigations. As results, it is concluded that equity, safety, security and sustainability are indispensable urban mobility elements and it is necessary some adaptations on Campus.
