Benefits and Returns of Adopt-A-Park Programme in Kuala Lumpur

t b a

Resumen

Due to the limited yearly allocation, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) is struggling to sustain its public parks. This paper aims to examine the benefits and returns of the Adopt-A-Park Programme at the Laman @ Eco Sky and the Metropolis Park to DBKL, users and park adopters. Park user?s satisfaction and monetary spent by the adopters were analysed descriptively. Results suggest while DBKL saved about RM24 million of the maintenance cost, 94% of the adopted park users were satisfied with the quality of the park. For future, DBKL should prioritised the B40 parks to be incorporated in the programme.
