Factoring: Alternative financing as a Support Tool for Road Freight Companies in Bogotá

Resumen

The road freight transport sub-sector has a major influence on the competitiveness of exports and the country?s overall movement of goods. Accordingly, this research evaluates the financial viability of factoring inthe subsector by comparing scenarios that simulate the use of this tool over the 2008-2012 period. The results indicate that the use of factoring offersadvantages in terms of reducing turnover, increasing cash flow and creatingvalue for the companies studied, as well as adding value to the sub-sector.
