Este ensaio representa um duplo esforço: refutar a crítica de Easton, em seu ensaio ?O sistema político sitiado pelo Estado?, à teoria de Estado de Poulantzas, por um lado, e, por outro, apresentar uma breve contribuição ao desenvolvimento desta última teoria.
