Resumen
The objective of this research is to determine the intention of entrepreneurship of the students of Mexico City, and to establish whether there is a relationship with the characteristics of the students and their parents. A questionnaire validated by Liñán y Chen (2006) and Liñán, Nabi y Krueguer (2013) was applied to a sample of 420 voluntary students of Elementary, Secondary and Tertiary education in Mexico City, a correlational and descriptive analysis was performed of the data collected, the methods of Chi square and Spearman correlation were used. The main findings show that 97% of students show a desire to start a business, while those who wish to start in less than one year only reach 14%, in two years 17% and in more than two years only 28%. In addition, most would undertake given the opportunity and feel a great satisfaction of being an entrepreneur, putting all their effort into this activity. They consider important the approval of colleagues, family and friends, they also stated that being an entrepreneur implies more advantages than disadvantages, so they can consider this activity as a professional goal.
