Resumen
Nowadays, the use of information technology entails certain transformations of trust in the public communications. In Russia many portals were developed to allow citizens interact with authorities in electronic form, receive public services and participate in city management. However, the problem of social trust in information technology remains insufficiently studied. The article presents the results of a survey of St. Petersburg residents on trust in new technologies for interacting with the government and participating in city governance. In the study a survey of 600 residents of St. Petersburg was conducted. The results of the study showed a high level of Internet penetration among city residents and a high level of trust in financial transactions via the Internet when paying fees and fines. Despite the positive experience of using public service portals and electronic reception rooms, the level of citizens' trust in interacting with authorities in electronic format and on Internet portals for solving city problems remains low.
