Syamimi Mohamad Sanusi

Resumen

Tire shine production that is made up from waste cooking oil is one of the solutions for environmental pollution by converting undesired material into a useful product. Due to the green technology, making the tyre shine from waste cooking oil is economical and such a new alternative. The main objectives of this study are to produce tyre shine from waste cooking oil and to compare the effectiveness of tyre shine produced than commercial tyre shine production. The waste cooking oil was filtered to remove suspended solid. Then, samples will undergo transesterification process. Both of this process is important in biodiesel and glycerol production. After produce a samples successful, AAS used to trace heavy metals content which is Lead (Pb), Copper (Cu), and Iron (Fe). The result shows that Cu elements higher in treated tire shine while for commercial are Pb elements. For pH value, treated tire shine is in alkaline compared to the commercial is in acidic. It is proved that treated tire shine can be used in any kind of weather as well as commercial tire shine.
