Human Resource Management Bundles during COVID-19 Crisis

     
    

Resumen

The purpose of this study is to explore the Human Resource Management (HRM) bundles during COVID-19 crisis because pandemic affects not only the lives of human beings but also disrupted business operations, investment, supply chain management, financial and effective performance of the organizations. Human Resource Professionals (HRPs) from various parts of the world have adopted lots of hard and soft HRM strategies to combat the crisis due to pandemic. This study conducted a survey on 141 employees from different industries in order to explore their adoption strategies through the lens of hard and soft HR practices. Mixed methods were applied along with a regression analysis. Findings reveal that hard HR practices like cost saving bundles that includes incentives, training and performance evaluation whereas soft HR practices or employee engagement and motivation bundle that includes communication, support, and encouragement are required during a crisis. The findings will aid the HRPs of the HRM bundles and HRM activities managing the crises during COVID-19 or similar pandemics. Key Words: Human Resource Management (HRM), Human Resource Professionals (HRPs), HR Bundles; Hard and Soft HR Practices, COVID-19
