Resumen
This paper shows Shinkansen's various benefits on the region. New Shinkansen line is expected to increase interregional transportation and consequently revitalize the regional economy. For the next Shinkansen development, it is quite important to analyze benefits from the completed Shinkansen lines. This paper discusses a quantitative study on conditional changes of transportation and impacts on travelers and tourists brought by the two recently opened Shinkansen lines (Tohoku Shinkansen (Hachinohe ? Shin-Aomori) and Kyushu Shinkansen (Hakata ? Shin-Yatsushiro)).
