Resumen
Esta nota propone una re exión sobre diferentes aspectos del proceso de indus- trialización chileno antes de la Primera Guerra Mundial. Primero, se expone el estado de la discusión sobre el proceso de industrialización y la Revolución Indus- trial británica. En este contexto, se presenta sintéticamente la hipótesis de Robert Allen sobre tal fenómeno. Luego, con esta conjetura como eje articulador, se analiza la situación actual del conocimiento sobre el nivel de industrialización lati- noamericano y chileno previo a 1913.Palabras claves: Industrialización, Chile, Robert Allen.AbstractThis note proposes a re ection on different aspects of the Chilean industrialization before the First World War. First, it discusses the state of the arts about the British Industrial Revolution and introduces the hypothesis of Robert Allen on such phe- nomenon.
