Resumen
Wireless sensors providing data about air quality in the immediate vicinity of the road is a new technology with significant application potential in the field of intelligent transport systems (ITS). Bearing in mind that one of the purposes of theITS application is the realization of the concept of an intelligent city, the prevention of air pollution becomes an interesting, future-oriented field of their implementation. The combination of information collected by a network of sensors, which are monitoring air quality with a pollution prediction models, allows to define new scenarios for traffic management and control strategies, whose principal aim is to prevent episodes of communication emission. This functionality requires an appropriate location of measuring stations. The aim of this article is to present the criteria used for location of station equipped with sensors monitoring the impact of transport on the air quality. In article, authors presented results of applied multi-criteria assessment in order to rank the location of measuring stations for the area, where the monitoring systems of the impact of transport on air quality (the city of Bielsko-Biala) are currently being built.
