Paraná river channel hydrodynamic modelling for the Porto São José - Porto 18 stretch. Part II: model calibration

Resumen

In this paper hydrodynamic modelling of the channel for the river stretch from Porto São José to Porto 18 is presented. This step involved historical data gathering, level and flowrate field survey, model parameters attainment and flowrate distribution analysis for the main channels. Stages readings and measurement of discharge using ADCP meter were performed at the inner sections of the discretization, making it possible to estimate roughness coefficients. The calibrated model thus obtained is an efficient tool in order to simulate stages and flowrate data within this part of the river.
