Resumen
Women are critical partners of globalization. Their membership in the political and social processes, creating new spaces and dimensions for women?s political subject-hood, has made them active participants in the process. This paper examines the impact of globalization on the perception of women of their independence and empowerment and assesses how women are evaluated as members of a society in the postmodern world. This study concludes that even though women are confronted with new values and ideas everyday, their position did not change significantly. Further investigation is needed to outline feasible solutions to incorporate women within the process of globalization, and to bring moderation of gender relations to ensure enhanced opportunities for participation of women in the globalized world. Keywords: globalization, postmodernism, gender relation, women?s position
