Resumen

Aspects of the modernisation process in the sector of distribution service, in particular the self-service segment, supermarkets and department stores are analysed. The adoption of technological and organisational innovation is essential for organisations to face the strong competition present in all sectors of the economy. Current practices of technological and organisational innovations are analysed and their impact on the performance of companies discussed. The analysis and discussion that ensue are based on case studies
