Resumen

After the analysis of the concept and meaning of management, the paper further analyzes the traits and characteristics of the manager and good management. A special emphasis is put on the specific characteristics of management within railway transportation firms, while the most characteristic traits which enable a manager to achieve the aims of management have been particularly scrutinized. The paper may be useful for all the managers dealing with the tasks of railway industry and railway transport
