Este artigo analisa as contribuições de autores de perspectiva marxista que abordaram a temática da questão regional, a exemplo de Lênin, Trotsky, Gramsci, Florestan Fernandes e Francisco de Oliveira. Busca, a partir desses autores, compreender a especificidade da questão regional amazônica. Faz a inter-relação entre essa temática e a formação do profissional de Assistente Social, apontando elementos para o debate.Palavras-chave: Questão regional, região amazônica, formação profissional do assistente social.THE AMAZON REGION ISSUE AND THE CHALLENGES OF THE PROFESSIONAL FORMATION IN SOCIAL WORK: issues for problematization.Abstract: The regional issue in the Amazon region and its implications for the Social Worker´s formation. This paper examines the contributions of authors that addressed the regional issue from a Marxist perspective: Lenin, Trotsky, Gramsci, Florestan Fernandes and Francisco de Oliveira. It searches an understanding of the Amazon regional issue from these authors point of view. This article also shows the inter-relationship between this topic and the training of professional Social Workers, pointing items for discussion.
