Resumen

The article deals with issues related to the development of single-industry towns. The term Smart City and the corresponding development refer not only to large megacities. In the previous industrial era in many countries, including Russia, there were single-industry towns, the purpose of creating which was the servicing of one production or one scientific area, which had a special significance for states. As a rule, such cities were almost always part of some branch system or network that was of federal importance. Now these cities in Russia, as a rule, are included in the sphere of activity of the largest Russian corporations that have significant opportunities in the development of these cities in terms of the optimal use of their assets, infrastructures and information and telecommunication technologies. The article deals with the problems of building Smart Cities in such mono-formations.
