Resumen

In this work, the non-linear dynamic response of buildings is studied considering both the horizontal component and the vertical component of seismic acceleration records. With an adequate discretization of the structure, it is found that the plastic rotations of the structure can change significantly, which is why the inclusion of the vertical seismic component in the assessment and design of buildings is recommended.
