Numerical Study of the Blood Flow in a Deformable Human Aorta

Resumen

This article developed a computer simulation based on the finite element method to investigate the interaction between blood flow and arterial wall deformation. The numerical results show that the blood flow has an unsteady and complex behavior. The velocity field, pressure, and displacement distributions were investigated during a cardiac cycle. The method described in this study will be useful for investigating cardiovascular diseases and performing hemodynamics analyses.
