This work deals with the dynamic response calculation and energy dissipation analysis of a linear elastic single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) system with a supplemental nonlinear eddy current damper (ECD) subjected to base excitation, in preparation for optimum design and performance evaluation for structural vibration control with ECDs.
