Resumen
This review reports the current evidence available regarding the role of radiomic features extracted from conventional imaging (MRI, CT and 18F-FDG PET scans) in assessing the status of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OPSCC) patients. The paper evaluates the possible future adoption of radiomic models in determining viral status in a non-invasive manner, especially for those not tolerating biopsy, when biopsy is not feasible or in case of discrepancies between immunohistochemistry and Polymerase Chain Reaction. This could also lead to more tailored treatment strategies.
